Oil’s Strength Continue to Boost Global Stocks

By Riva Gold
Global stocks extended gains Tuesday as crude oil prices continued to climb past fresh highs for the year.
The Stoxx Europe 600 was up 0.9% in early trade, following upbeat sessions in Asia and on Wall Street. Rising oil
prices helped the S&P 500 snap a three-day losing streak on Monday, and later lifted shares of energy and mining
companies in Asia and Europe.makeAd(‘4′,’300×250′,’mktsnews’,’article’,”,”);
In currencies, the dollar rose 0.3% against the yen to Yen109.3570, while the euro was up 0.1% against the dollar
at $1.1325.
Later Tuesday, investors will focus on consumer price figures from the U.K. and U.S. to assess recent inflationary
pressures and gauge their likely impact on central bank policy.
